Mafia II is a GTA like game but with an emphasis to the underworld crime scene rather than car-jacking. I haven't played the original Mafia but it's said to be way longer than Mafia II. Also we don't feel that much attached to the playable character 'Vito' like we did to Nico Bellic in GTA 4 and the dialogues aren't that great too. The story is not that much interesting at first but when it starts to get interesting, the whole game ends, may be for another sequel. Would have given 3.5 star if i could but couldn't bring myself to give 4 stars either.

The graphics are not so bad and it runs well on a decent machine given that you have put the Physx effect to low or turned off completely. Unless you have a monster of a graphics card or a system with two cards in SLI you shouldn't set the Physx too much. Also the audio is great and the dialogue delivery is good (not as good as GTA 4) for whatever simple dialog it has. Controls are the same as any other action game.

The game is available for under 500 bucks. Check this game out if you like GTA like games but bear in mind this one doesn't have a lot to do other than your main missions.

Enjoy the 50's with Mafia 2 as you step into the shoes of Vito Scalleti and try to earn money to make it to the bigtime. Unfold the life of a mobster and survive the day to day activities of a typical gangster in the making. Graphics are mediocre but gameplay is very good. Although there is one major problem in the saving system which can't be done at will. The autosave frequency is very undesirable as a lot of your work can be undone if you accidently crash your car and die. Other than that it is a wide and very interactable (though short) game with details given into even refueling your cars. For 500 bucks, its well worth the money.

Mafia 2 is a cinematic experience which tells the story of Vito Scaletta - an Italian who joins the life of crime. The protagonist is great and the story is a typical mob story. The graphics are top-notch, supporting Dx10 and Nvidia Physx. The AI is well paced with little problems in the driving area.

Some core features of Mafia 1 are still there and the game has a reference to it in chapter 14. The game tends to be ahead of its time in graphics, though using dx11 would have increased the number of polygons and given it a 3D feel by using tessellation. For INR 500 it's a complete buy.

PS: DlC's are priced at USD 10 which is equal to the value of the game itself.

I got my Mafia 2 game a couple of days back from nextworld. This game is great. It gives you an authentic feel of the early 40s in America. The graphics and game play are good, though the game is a little shorter than the 1st part. With such a low price, this game is a must buy.

I would have rated this a 3 but the only reason I gave it a 4 is its outstanding graphics and pretty good gun-play. In terms of storyline, this game is about 3 times shorter than Mafia, although not very bad, has no side missions and is a little too much linear for an open world game. The interaction is very minimal. There is no free-ride mode either. The game features quite a lot of cars and you can jack almost any of them from the beginning. The radio stations are a bit repetitive but not bad. The best part is chapter 14. You are going to love it. There is a DLC available now - Jimmy's Vendetta, which adds a lot of side missions. With that loaded, the game is a lot more fun. In the DLC you play as Jimmy and not Vito.
